Introduction
All of us in the Boettcher lab are firmly committed to maintaining a safe, healthy environment for all who enter our lab space. Anyone working in the Boettcher lab space must receive one-on-one safety training with the lab safety officer before beginning work in the lab. Task-specific safety training is administered as necessary by senior lab members or other qualified personnel. An annual safety review with UO Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) is mandatory for all postdoctoral, graduate, undergraduate, and volunteer lab workers.

Forms and Training
If you are an undergraduate VOLUNTEERING in the lab (i.e. not working for credit) then you must fill out the*UO Conditions of Volunteer Service form* for liability and injury coverage, and submit it to Risk management. Shannon will sign the form as well. The forms are available on line at

All researchers must also complete responsible conduct of research training. If you are a graduate student then your research ethics course is sufficient for this purpose. Postdoctoral scholars and undergraduates must complete this online module.
